Arsenal wins first Premier League title in 22 years after Manchester City draw
Arsenal clinched their first Premier League title since 2004 after Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth ended City's title challenge.

Arsenal was crowned Premier League champion for the first time in 22 years on Tuesday after Manchester City drew 1-1 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The result left Arsenal with an unassailable four-point lead at the top of the table with one round of fixtures remaining in the season.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City needed to win at Bournemouth to keep their title hopes alive and take the championship race to the final game of the campaign on Sunday. However, Junior Kroupi's curling shot in the 39th minute gave Bournemouth the lead, putting City in a difficult position.
Erling Haaland equalized for City in the fifth minute of stoppage time, but the draw was insufficient to prevent Arsenal from securing the title. The result also secured European football for Bournemouth for the first time in the club's history.
Arsenal fans celebrated outside the Emirates Stadium as the club ended its 22-year wait for the Premier League title. The Gunners' last championship came in 2004 with the famous 'Invincibles' team that went an entire campaign without losing in the league. Since then, Chelsea, Manchester United, City, Leicester and Liverpool have all claimed Premier League titles.
Manager Mikel Arteta can now celebrate after finishing as runner-up in the league for three consecutive years. In 2023 and 2024, Arsenal led for much of both campaigns before City overtook them, while Liverpool denied them the title last year. This marks Arsenal's 14th league title and the first time since 2017 that a team other than City or Liverpool has been crowned Premier League champion.
The buildup to Tuesday's match was overshadowed by reports that Guardiola would leave Manchester City at the end of the season after 10 years at the club. City had been aiming for their seventh Premier League title under Guardiola and a second domestic treble, having already won the League Cup and FA Cup this season.
