Pelosi, Coons Issue Endorsements in Congressional Primary Races
Two prominent Democrats endorsed candidates Monday in separate primary contests for House seats in California and Michigan.

Two high-profile Democratic endorsements were announced Monday as primary campaigns intensify across the country.
Retiring Rep. Nancy Pelosi endorsed San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan for California's 11th Congressional District, the seat Pelosi is vacating. In a video shared by both campaigns, Pelosi said "I know and love this district, I know the Congress and I know Connie" while sitting alongside Chan.
Chan faces competition from state Sen. Scott Wiener and former tech executive Saikat Chakrabarti, a co-founder of the progressive group Justice Democrats, in the race to succeed the longtime House Speaker.
Separately, Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware endorsed Rep. Haley Stevens for Michigan's Senate Democratic primary. In a campaign video, Coons called it his "honor" to endorse the four-term congresswoman, citing their previous work together including travel and campaigning.
The endorsements come less than three months before the Democratic primary elections in both states. Both Pelosi and Coons carry significant influence within the Democratic Party, with their backing potentially providing momentum for the endorsed candidates in competitive races.
