President Donald Trump has appointed Nick Adams, an Australian-born social media influencer, to serve as a special presidential envoy for tourism, exceptionalism and American values, the White House announced Tuesday.

Adams, who describes himself as an "alpha male" online personality, has built a following through provocative social media content and commentary supporting Trump's agenda. The Sydney-born commentator became a naturalized American citizen and has been a vocal advocate for conservative political positions.

This appointment comes after Adams faced challenges with a previous nomination. In July, Trump nominated him to serve as ambassador to Malaysia, but the Senate returned the nomination without holding a confirmation vote in January. The administration did not resubmit that nomination.

The new role as special presidential envoy does not require Senate confirmation, unlike ambassadorial positions. The White House described the position as focused on promoting American tourism and values internationally.

Adams has been known for his outspoken social media presence and has made controversial statements in the past. His appointment represents Trump's continued selection of loyalist figures and social media personalities for diplomatic and advisory roles.
