The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened a specialized cyber training facility in Huntsville, Alabama, designed to prepare agents and personnel for modern digital threats. The facility, known as a Cyber Range, spans 22,000 square feet and replicates an entire town environment.

The training center includes realistic replicas of common targets for cyberattacks, featuring a convenience store, gas station, hospital, and fully furnished residential homes. This physical infrastructure allows trainees to practice responding to cyber incidents in environments that mirror real-world scenarios.

The facility represents the FBI's adaptation of traditional training methods for the digital age. Similar to the bureau's famous Hogan's Alley tactical training facility, the Cyber Range provides hands-on experience, but focuses specifically on cybersecurity threats rather than conventional criminal scenarios.

Cyberattacks have become increasingly sophisticated, with threat actors targeting critical infrastructure, healthcare systems, and residential networks. The new facility aims to better prepare federal agents to respond to these evolving digital threats through immersive training scenarios.
