Lawmakers, Pundits Question Trump's Iran War Claims
Democratic Senator Adam Schiff and Fox News host Tucker Carlson both criticized President Trump's statements about the ongoing Iran conflict.

Two prominent political figures have publicly questioned President Trump's characterizations of the military situation with Iran, though from different perspectives.
Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) stated Thursday evening that Trump's account of negotiations to end the Iran war "lacks a lot of credibility." The California Democrat's comments came after Trump earlier threatened increased strikes on Tehran before later canceling them, claiming Iran's supreme leader had approved a deal.
Separately, Fox News host Tucker Carlson criticized Trump's approach to discussing the Middle East military operation with the American public. Carlson said Trump was "overselling" the conflict, comparing it to "all-you-can-eat buffet in Atlantic City."
Carlson also made specific claims about the strategic situation, stating that "Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz" now, which "it did not when this war began." The conservative pundit's comments represent an unusual public critique of Trump from a typically supportive media figure.
The criticisms come as Trump has made various public statements about the status of military operations and diplomatic efforts with Iran, including claims about potential deals and threats of military action.
