One Killed in Shooting Attack in Central Israel; Seven Die in Gaza Strike
A gunman killed one person and wounded several others in central Israel before being neutralized, while a separate Israeli strike in Gaza killed seven people.

At least one person was killed and several others wounded in a shooting attack in central Israel near the West Bank boundary, Israeli authorities said. The Israeli ambulance service confirmed one fatality and reported that five additional people were injured in what police described as a suspected terror attack.
The gunman was subsequently neutralized by security forces, according to Israeli media reports. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was monitoring the situation following the deadly shooting along what officials called the seam line between Israel and the West Bank.
Hamas, the Palestinian militant group controlling Gaza, praised the assault but did not claim responsibility for the attack. Israeli authorities have classified the incident as a terrorist attack as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Separately, an Israeli military strike in Gaza killed seven people, including two women, according to local medical officials. The strike occurred amid ongoing military operations in the territory as part of Israel's war against Hamas that began following the October 7 attacks.
The violence comes as tensions remain high in the region. Israeli forces have also reportedly killed a Hamas commander who authorities said was connected to the October 7 massacre and had continued planning attacks against Israeli troops during the current conflict.
