A fire at Southampton docks destroyed more than 30 Chinese-manufactured Jaecoo SUVs with an estimated value of nearly £1 million, according to reports.

Photographs from the scene showed vehicles with extensive damage, with some completely destroyed by the blaze. Large black plumes of smoke were visible rising from the port area during the incident.

The Jaecoo brand is manufactured by Chinese automotive company Chery, which has been expanding its presence in international markets. The vehicles were reportedly awaiting distribution when the fire occurred.

Details about the cause of the fire and the extent of damage to port infrastructure have not been disclosed. It remains unclear whether the incident will impact the supply of Jaecoo vehicles to UK dealers.
