Police watchdog investigates handcuffing of stabbing victim; two charged in separate shooting
A police watchdog is investigating after an 18-year-old stabbing victim was handcuffed, while two people face charges in an unrelated fatal shooting.

A police watchdog has launched an investigation into the handling of a stabbing incident involving an 18-year-old victim who was initially treated as a suspect despite suffering multiple wounds.
Henry Nowak, 18, sustained five stab wounds during the incident but was handcuffed by responding officers who reportedly treated him as a suspect rather than a victim. The circumstances that led to this response are now under review by the police oversight body.
In a separate incident, two individuals have been charged following the fatal shooting of a bystander outside a bar in Sheffield. Shanice Brookes, 30, was killed in what police described as circumstances where she was an "innocent bystander" caught in the shooting.
Police characterized Brookes as having no involvement in any dispute or criminal activity when she was fatally wounded outside the establishment. The two suspects now face charges in connection with her death.
Both incidents highlight ongoing concerns about public safety and police response protocols in serious violent crime cases.
