A 23-year-old man has been found guilty of murdering an 18-year-old university student with a ceremonial knife in Southampton.
Vikrum Digwa was convicted of killing Henry Nowak, a first-year finance student, who was walking home from a night out when he was attacked by the stranger. The assault occurred using an eight-inch ceremonial blade known as a 'Shastar'.
According to court proceedings, Digwa allegedly told police that the teenager had been racist toward him. This claim led to officers initially arresting Nowak as he was bleeding from his injuries.
Nowak was a first-year student at university in Southampton when the fatal attack took place. The victim was returning from a night out when he encountered Digwa, who was unknown to him.
