Valve Corporation has implemented substantial price increases for its Steam Deck handheld gaming devices, marking the first major pricing adjustment since the product's initial launch.

The 512GB Steam Deck OLED model now retails for $789, representing a $240 increase from its previous price of $549. The higher-capacity 1TB model has seen an even larger jump to $949 from $649, an increase of $300.

The price adjustments coincide with improved inventory management, as both models are currently available for immediate purchase through Steam's online store. Previously, customers often faced extended wait times or stock shortages when attempting to purchase the devices.

Valve has provided estimated delivery dates for current orders, indicating the company has addressed previous supply chain challenges that affected product availability. The Steam Deck, which allows users to play PC games on a portable device, has gained popularity among gaming enthusiasts since its introduction.

The pricing changes affect the premium OLED versions of the device, which feature enhanced display technology compared to earlier models. Valve has not announced whether additional price adjustments are planned for other Steam Deck variants.
