Two Tech Startups Announce Funding Rounds for Biotech and Fragrance Applications
Biotech company Imperagen and fragrance tech company Patina each announced separate funding rounds on Thursday.
Two technology startups announced separate funding rounds on Thursday, targeting different applications in biotechnology and fragrance development.
Imperagen, a biotech company focused on enzyme engineering, secured £5 million ($6.7 million) in seed funding. The round was led by PXN Ventures, with participation from IQ Capital and Northern Gritstone. The company applies quantum physics and artificial intelligence to enzyme engineering processes.
Separately, Patina, a fragrance technology company, announced it raised $2 million from investors including Betaworks and True Ventures. The company is developing technology for an industry that has remained largely unchanged for several decades.
Both funding announcements reflect continued investor interest in technology applications across traditional industries, from biotechnology to consumer products. The companies represent different approaches to applying advanced technologies to established markets.
