Two Tech Startups Launch AI Therapy Platform and Child-Focused Streaming App
The Path debuts AI therapy with high safety scores while Maka Kids raises $3M for developmental streaming content for young children.

Two technology startups have launched platforms targeting mental health and child development, with different approaches to digital wellness.
The Path, a company founded by alumni from Tony Robbins' organization and meditation app Calm, has introduced an artificial intelligence-powered therapy platform. The company reports its AI model achieved a score of 95 on the Vera-MH mental health safety benchmark, significantly higher than consumer chatbots which typically score around 65 on the same assessment.
Separately, Maka Kids has developed a streaming application specifically designed for children ages zero to six, focusing on content that promotes healthy development rather than maximizing engagement time. The startup announced it has secured $3 million in seed funding to expand its platform.
The Maka Kids platform represents a departure from traditional streaming services that prioritize keeping users engaged for extended periods. Instead, the company emphasizes creating content optimized for early childhood development and well-being.
Both companies are entering markets where concerns about digital safety and wellness have grown. The Path's emphasis on safety benchmarks reflects broader industry discussions about responsible AI deployment in healthcare settings, while Maka Kids addresses parental concerns about screen time quality for young children.
The funding secured by Maka Kids will support the scaling of its content library and platform development as the company works to establish itself in the competitive children's media landscape.
