Stellantis, Dongfeng Plan Joint Venture for European Electric Vehicle Sales
Automaker Stellantis and China's Dongfeng Motor are forming a joint venture to sell Voyah-branded electric vehicles in Europe.
Stellantis and Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor have announced plans to establish a joint venture focused on selling electric vehicles in the European market.
The partnership will center on the distribution and sale of Dongfeng's Voyah brand, which produces new energy vehicles including fully electric cars and plug-in hybrid models. The joint venture will handle the sales and distribution operations for these vehicles across European markets.
The announcement comes as the global electric and hybrid vehicle market continues to expand rapidly. According to forecasts from the International Energy Agency, electric and hybrid vehicle sales are expected to reach 30% of the total automotive market this year, reflecting growing consumer adoption and regulatory support for cleaner transportation technologies.
Stellantis, formed through the 2021 merger of Fiat Chrysler and PSA Group, has been actively pursuing partnerships and investments to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle sector. The company operates brands including Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and Citroën.
Dongfeng Motor, one of China's major state-owned automakers, launched the Voyah brand as part of its push into the premium electric vehicle segment. The brand focuses on high-end electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles for both domestic and international markets.
