The Trump administration has selected David Venturella to serve as acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson announced Tuesday evening.

Venturella, a longtime ICE official who currently serves as a senior advisor to the agency, will replace Todd Lyons, who had been serving as acting ICE director. Lyons' departure was announced last month, though the specific timing of the transition has not been disclosed.
