Prosus Sells Delivery Hero Stake to Aspex Management for $395 Million
Investment firm Prosus divested part of its holdings in German delivery company Delivery Hero to Aspex Management for approximately $395 million.
Investment company Prosus has sold a portion of its stake in German food delivery firm Delivery Hero to Aspex Management for approximately $395 million, according to company announcements.
The transaction represents the latest in a series of Prosus divestments from its Delivery Hero holdings. Earlier, the investment firm sold around 4.5% of its stake in the German delivery company to ride-hailing giant Uber.
The sale to Uber was conducted as part of regulatory remedies connected to Prosus's acquisition of Just Eat Takeaway, a major European food delivery platform. Competition authorities typically require such asset sales to address market concentration concerns in merger transactions.
Prosus, the international investment arm of South African technology investor Naspers, has been actively managing its portfolio of technology investments. The company has maintained significant positions in various delivery and e-commerce platforms across global markets.
Delivery Hero operates food delivery services in multiple countries and has been among the major players in the competitive online food ordering market. The German company has expanded its presence across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East in recent years.
