USPS Reports $2B Loss Despite Revenue Gains; Trump Media Loses $406M
Two major companies reported significant quarterly losses despite some positive revenue trends in early 2026.

The United States Postal Service reported a net loss of $2 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2026, despite recording higher revenues and reduced operating costs in some areas. The agency posted $20.2 billion in total operating revenue for the quarter ending March 31.
The financial results highlight ongoing challenges facing the postal service as it works to address long-standing structural issues while maintaining nationwide mail delivery operations.
Separately, Trump Media and Technology Group, the parent company of the Truth Social platform, reported a net loss of approximately $406 million for the first quarter of 2026. The company generated $870,000 in revenue during the January-March period, representing a 6% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
According to the company's quarterly filing, the substantial losses were largely attributed to other investments beyond the core social media platform operations. Truth Social serves as one of President Trump's primary communication channels.
Both organizations face distinct operational and financial challenges as they work to achieve profitability. The USPS continues efforts to modernize operations and reduce costs, while Trump Media seeks to expand its digital platform presence and user base.
