The 2026 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced, recognizing excellence in journalism and the arts across multiple categories.

The Washington Post received the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, considered the most prestigious of the awards, for its coverage examining the Trump administration's changes to federal agencies. The reporting scrutinized what sources described as cuts and organizational modifications across government departments.

Reuters won two Pulitzer Prizes in the categories of national reporting and beat reporting. The Associated Press was also among the journalism organizations recognized with awards.

The Minnesota Star Tribune was included among the newspaper winners for their 2025 work. Individual winners included authors Daniel Kraus, Jill Lepore and Yiyun Li, as well as opinion writer M. Gessen.

The Pulitzer Prizes, administered by Columbia University, annually honor distinguished work in journalism, literature, and musical composition. The awards recognize reporting and creative work published or performed during the previous calendar year.
