The Dallas Mavericks have hired Masai Ujiri as their new team president, the organization announced. Ujiri replaces former general manager Nico Harrison, who was dismissed in November.

Ujiri previously served as president of basketball operations for the Toronto Raptors, where he constructed the roster that captured the franchise's first NBA championship in 2019. During his tenure with the Raptors, Ujiri was credited with making key personnel decisions that led to the team's breakthrough season.

The hiring comes as the Mavericks look to reshape their front office structure following Harrison's departure earlier in the season. Harrison had been with the organization in various capacities before his recent dismissal.

Ujiri brings extensive front office experience to Dallas, having previously held executive positions with multiple NBA franchises. His track record includes both talent evaluation and organizational leadership roles throughout his career in professional basketball.
