A 19-year-old man has been charged with making false communications relating to a bomb hoax that forced the evacuation of a Peter Kay comedy show in Birmingham.

Omar Majed, of Washwood Heath, Birmingham, was arrested following the incident at the Utilita Arena during Kay's 'Better Late Than Never' tour performance. West Midlands Police confirmed the charges against Majed.

The show was halted approximately 45 minutes into the performance after authorities received the bomb threat. The venue was subsequently evacuated as a precautionary measure while police investigated the threat.

Majed is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to face the charges. West Midlands Police have not released additional details about the specific nature of the threat or the investigation process.

The incident disrupted what was part of Kay's highly anticipated comedy tour, marking his return to live performance after an extended break from touring.
