ICE deported 174 DACA recipients in first nine months of 2025, agency says
Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported 174 people renewing DACA protections and arrested 270 total DACA recipients from January through September 2025.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported 174 people who were renewing their protections under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program during the first nine months of 2025, according to a letter from the agency's acting director.
The letter, written by ICE acting director Todd Lyons and sent to Illinois Representative Delia Ramirez, also confirmed that 270 DACA recipients were arrested during the same January through September timeframe.
The DACA program, established during the Obama administration, allows certain undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children to receive protection from deportation and work authorization. Recipients, often referred to as "Dreamers," must renew their status periodically.
The deportations and arrests occurred during the first nine months of Donald Trump's second presidency. The letter provides new details about immigration enforcement actions affecting DACA recipients during this period.
The disclosure comes as immigration policy remains a central focus of the current administration's agenda.
