Storm Dave brought high winds overnight that left thousands of homes without electricity across parts of Scotland and northern England.

The worst-affected areas appear to be concentrated in Scotland and the North East of England, where utility companies are working to restore service to affected customers.

The overnight storm system generated winds strong enough to damage power infrastructure and disrupt electrical service to residential areas.

Power companies have not yet provided estimated restoration times for the affected areas. The full extent of the outages and any additional storm-related damage is still being assessed as daylight hours allow for better evaluation of the situation.
