Dutch police investigate explosion outside Christian center supporting Israel
Police are probing a small blast at a pro-Israel Christian facility in the Netherlands, with no injuries reported.
Dutch police are investigating a small explosion that occurred outside a Christian center that promotes Israel on Friday night in Nijkerk, central Netherlands.
Police in Gelderland province said nobody was injured in the blast and that it caused only limited damage. Authorities have not made any arrests and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The group Christians for Israel said the explosion targeted its Israel Center in Nijkerk and was caused by an explosive device. In a statement on its website, the organization expressed shock at the incident.
The incident follows recent explosions at Jewish sites across Europe, including blasts last month outside synagogues in Liege, Belgium, and Rotterdam, Netherlands, as well as an explosion outside a Jewish school in Amsterdam.
In response to the recent attacks, authorities have reinforced security around Jewish sites. The Christians for Israel group said the blast fits a pattern of attacks on Jewish sites intended to create fear.
Police continue to investigate the incident and have asked anyone with information to contact them.
