Kansas basketball head coach Bill Self announced he will return to lead the Jayhawks for the 2026-27 season, his 24th year with the program.

Self, who has compiled 855 career wins and led Kansas to two national championships, had been considering retirement according to reports. The Hall of Fame coach has dealt with health issues in recent years but confirmed his intention to continue coaching.
