Delta Air Lines announced it will partner with Amazon to provide in-flight Wi-Fi service using the company's Project Kuiper satellite constellation, marking a significant challenge to Elon Musk's Starlink service that has dominated airline connectivity.

The partnership will see Amazon's Leo satellite internet service begin connecting a portion of Delta's fleet starting in 2028. The move represents Delta's effort to improve passenger connectivity as airlines increasingly compete on in-flight entertainment and internet access quality.

Starlink has emerged as the leading satellite connectivity provider to airlines in recent years, making Amazon's entry into this market a notable development in the satellite internet competition. Separately, IndiGo, India's largest airline by fleet size, named Willie Walsh as its new chief executive officer. Walsh currently serves as director general of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the global airline industry trade group.

Walsh brings significant aviation industry experience to IndiGo, having previously led major airlines including British Airways and International Airlines Group. His appointment signals IndiGo's ambitions for continued growth in the competitive Indian aviation market.
