A Russian man has been sentenced to four years in prison for attacking a woman in the United Kingdom after President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, alerted British police to the incident.

Matvei Rumiantsev was convicted for the attack, which occurred in January 2025. The assault was witnessed during a video call by Barron Trump, who was in the United States at the time.

According to reports, the president's 18-year-old son observed the attack happening to his friend during their video conversation and immediately contacted UK authorities to report what he had seen.

British police responded to the alert and investigated the incident, which led to Rumiantsev's arrest and subsequent prosecution. The case proceeded through the UK court system, resulting in the four-year prison sentence.
