A man drove his vehicle through a security gate at a Florida airport on Wednesday and attempted to board aircraft before being detained by law enforcement officials.

According to deputies, the individual was intoxicated at the time of the incident. The man reportedly crashed through the airport's perimeter gate with his car before proceeding onto the airfield.

Once past the security barrier, the suspect attempted to board multiple aircraft. Sources indicate he was briefly able to access at least one plane before being stopped by authorities.

Law enforcement officials took the man into custody following the breach. Deputies reported that the individual had been drinking alcohol and using cocaine prior to the incident.

The suspect allegedly told authorities he had recently attended an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting but had subsequently consumed alcohol and drugs. Airport security protocols were activated during the incident to contain the situation.

The investigation into the security breach remains ongoing. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and normal airport operations have since resumed.
