Two Fatal Crashes Involve Suspects Identified as Undocumented Immigrants
Federal authorities have identified suspects in separate fatal vehicle crashes in New Jersey and North Carolina as individuals who entered the US illegally.

Federal immigration authorities have confirmed that suspects in two separate fatal vehicle crashes are undocumented immigrants who entered the United States illegally.
In New Jersey, Wilson Morocho-Necta, 33, has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Morristown that left one person dead. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has identified Morocho-Necta as an undocumented immigrant from Ecuador. According to federal sources, he first entered the US in 2019 at the southern border and was previously removed to Mexico following a judge's final order of removal.
In a separate incident in North Carolina, an undocumented immigrant has been accused in an alleged hit-and-run that killed motorcyclist Christopher Babcock, 62. ICE has filed a detainer in that case as well.
Both cases highlight ongoing enforcement actions by federal immigration authorities following serious criminal charges. The suspects face charges related to the fatal crashes while also being subject to immigration proceedings.
The incidents occurred amid continued national debate over immigration enforcement and border security policies. ICE detainers are requests to local law enforcement to hold individuals who may be subject to removal proceedings.
