Florida Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Attempted Murder in Rihanna Home Shooting
Ivanna Ortiz, 35, entered not guilty pleas to attempted murder and other charges related to March 8 shooting at singer's Beverly Hills area home.

A Florida woman pleaded not guilty Wednesday to attempted murder and more than a dozen other felony charges related to a shooting at Rihanna's home while the singer and her family were present.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, of Orlando, entered the plea through her attorney in Los Angeles Superior Court. Prosecutors allege Ortiz opened fire on the property in the Beverly Hills area on March 8 while Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three young children and several others were at the residence.
Ortiz faces 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an occupied vehicle or dwelling. According to prosecutors, Rihanna and Rocky were in an Airstream trailer at the time of the shooting, while the singer's mother, their children and staff members were in the main house. The shooting charges relate to the house, trailer and a neighboring property.
Public records show Ortiz has worked as a licensed speech pathologist for more than a decade. She is being held on $1.8 million bail and could face life in prison if convicted on all charges. The Public Defender's Office said they would ensure their client receives full constitutional protections.
District Attorney Nathan Hochman declined to discuss where bullets landed, potential motives or any connection between Ortiz and Rihanna, citing the ongoing investigation. At Ortiz's first court appearance on March 11, her lawyer initially entered a not guilty plea but then withdrew it to postpone the arraignment.
Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner with 14 No. 1 hits including "We Found Love" and "Umbrella," founded makeup brand Fenty Beauty in 2017. She and A$AP Rocky announced the birth of their third child, daughter Rocki Irish Mayers, in September.
