Samsung has announced two new midrange smartphones, the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57, featuring several improvements over their predecessors but coming with higher price tags.

Both devices receive upgrades to IP68 water resistance and enhanced AI features. The Galaxy A57 receives the more significant improvements, with a thinner and lighter design and reduced bezels around the display.

The new phones represent incremental updates rather than major overhauls from their previous generations. However, both models now carry a $50 price increase compared to their predecessors.

According to industry observers, the price increases reflect broader economic conditions affecting the smartphone market. The modest upgrades combined with higher pricing indicate manufacturers are balancing feature improvements with cost pressures.

The Galaxy A series has traditionally served as Samsung's midrange offering, positioned between the company's budget and flagship smartphone lines. The new models continue this positioning while incorporating features that have become standard expectations for modern smartphones, including improved water resistance and AI capabilities.
