Ring has announced its first battery-powered doorbell cameras capable of 4K video recording, expanding options for wireless home security installations. The company released three new models in its Battery Video Doorbell lineup, with varying price points and features.

The top-tier Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro 2nd Gen is priced at $249.99 and offers 4K video resolution with 10x digital zoom capabilities. The mid-range Battery Video Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen costs $179.99 and provides 2K video with 6x zoom functionality. An entry-level Battery Video Doorbell 2nd Gen is available for $99.99, also featuring 2K resolution.

Separately, Reolink has launched its Solar Floodlight Camera, which was first announced at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year. The device is now available for $109.99, though the company is offering a launch sale price of $87.99.

The Reolink camera addresses installation challenges common with traditional floodlight cameras, which typically require hardwiring into existing home electrical systems. This requirement can limit placement options and create installation difficulties for homeowners. Reolink's solar-powered model can be mounted in locations without access to electrical wiring.
