A McDonald's restaurant in China has begun testing humanoid robots to serve customers and greet visitors as part of an experimental program.

The robots were supplied by Chinese robotics company Keenon Robotics and deployed at a single McDonald's location for the trial period, according to reports.

The humanoid units are being used to perform basic customer service functions, including meal delivery and customer greetings within the restaurant.

The pilot program represents part of ongoing automation experiments in the food service industry, as companies explore robotic solutions for various operational tasks. McDonald's has not announced plans to expand the robot program to other locations at this time.
