Joseph Garrett Duggar, a former star of the TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting," has been arrested on charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

Duggar, 31, was taken into custody in Arkansas on Wednesday and faces charges of lewd and lascivious behavior involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor. The charges stem from allegations that he molested a 9-year-old girl during a vacation in Florida.

According to authorities, the alleged incident occurred in 2020. Duggar was awaiting extradition to Florida, where the charges were filed and where officials said the abuse took place.

Duggar appeared on "19 Kids and Counting," which aired on TLC and featured the large Duggar family from Arkansas. The show was canceled in 2015 following previous controversies involving family members.

The arrest represents the latest legal trouble for members of the Duggar family, who gained fame through their reality television appearances. Duggar has not publicly responded to the charges.
