Two Republican candidates secured nominations for U.S. House seats in Illinois congressional districts during recent primary elections.

Jeff Walter won the Republican nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in Illinois' 11th Congressional District. The district covers portions of the Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding counties.

Separately, Jennifer Davis claimed the Republican nomination for Illinois' 8th Congressional District, which encompasses parts of the northwest Chicago suburbs.

Both candidates will advance to the November general election, where they will face Democratic opponents in their respective districts. The victories position Walter and Davis as the Republican standard-bearers in competitive races that could influence the balance of power in the House of Representatives.

Illinois' congressional delegation currently includes both Republican and Democratic representatives, with district boundaries having been redrawn following the 2020 census.
