Bank of America Settles Lawsuit by Jeffrey Epstein Accusers
Bank of America has reached a settlement agreement with accusers who alleged the bank facilitated Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking operations.

Bank of America has agreed to settle a lawsuit filed by accusers of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein who alleged the financial institution aided his criminal activities.
The settlement resolves claims that the bank knowingly facilitated Epstein's sex trafficking operations through its banking services. The accusers had filed suit alleging the bank's continued relationship with Epstein enabled his crimes against young women and girls.
Epstein, a financier who maintained relationships with prominent figures in business and politics, died by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. He had previously pleaded guilty to state prostitution charges in Florida in 2008.
The terms of the settlement agreement between Bank of America and the accusers were not disclosed. The bank has not admitted wrongdoing as part of the resolution.
Similar lawsuits have been filed against other major financial institutions that maintained banking relationships with Epstein during the period when he allegedly committed his crimes. The cases have raised questions about banks' responsibilities in monitoring suspicious client activity.
