Two prominent political figures issued endorsements Thursday in competitive House primary races across different states.

Leaders We Deserve, the political group co-founded by gun control activist David Hogg, endorsed state Sen. Nathan Blouin in Utah's Democratic primary for the newly drawn Salt Lake City-based 1st Congressional District. Separately, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorsed state Rep. Micah Lasher, his former aide, in the Democratic primary for New York's 12th Congressional District. Bloomberg announced his support on the social platform X, stating that New Yorkers need experienced representatives during challenging times.

The endorsements come as both Utah and New York prepare for competitive primary elections in newly drawn or contested congressional districts. Blouin faces multiple opponents in Utah's 1st District race, while Lasher is among several candidates seeking the Democratic nomination in New York's 12th District.
