A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a female NYPD school crossing guard in the Bronx earlier this month.

Anthony Andrus was taken into custody on a warrant and charged with assault for the March 5 incident that occurred in the Concourse neighborhood, according to police officials.

The attack involved Andrus allegedly punching the female crossing guard while she was on duty. Police records indicate that Andrus has at least seven prior arrests.

The NYPD has not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the assault or the condition of the crossing guard following the incident. The case remains under investigation.
