AltStore PAL, an alternative iOS app store available in the European Union and Japan, has integrated with the fediverse social network ecosystem. The company announced Wednesday that it has launched its own Mastodon server to enable cross-platform social interactions.

The integration allows users across multiple social platforms including Mastodon, Threads, and Bluesky to interact with apps that developers choose to federate on AltStore PAL's explore.alt.store website. This means users can engage with app listings and developer updates from their preferred social media platform.

Developers using AltStore PAL can now share app updates and alerts that will be distributed across the connected fediverse platforms. The system operates through AltStore PAL's dedicated Mastodon server, which serves as the bridge between the app store and the broader social web.

AltStore PAL launched as an alternative to Apple's App Store in regions where the Digital Markets Act requires Apple to allow third-party app stores. The addition of fediverse integration represents an effort to create more direct communication channels between app developers and users outside of traditional app store interfaces.
