Runner with Multiple Sclerosis Sets New Half Marathon Record
Chris White achieved a record-breaking half marathon time despite medical advice to avoid intense exercise following his MS diagnosis.
Chris White, a runner diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, has set a new half marathon record time, defying medical recommendations he received after his diagnosis.
White was initially advised to avoid intense physical exercise following his multiple sclerosis diagnosis, a progressive neurological condition that affects the central nervous system and can impact mobility and coordination.
Despite these medical concerns, White pursued competitive distance running and achieved a record-breaking performance in the half marathon distance of 13.1 miles.
Multiple sclerosis affects approximately 2.8 million people worldwide and can cause symptoms including fatigue, mobility issues, and coordination problems, making athletic achievements like White's particularly notable.
