British Tourist Arrested in Dubai, Other Travelers Report Being Stranded
A 60-year-old British man was arrested in Dubai while other UK tourists say they remain trapped in the emirate amid ongoing regional tensions.

A 60-year-old British tourist from London was arrested in Dubai on Monday, according to reports. The man, who was understood to have been on holiday, was taken into custody for allegedly filming footage of Iranian missiles.
Separately, other British holidaymakers currently in Dubai say they feel trapped in what they describe as a "five-star paradise," with uncertainty about their departure plans and mounting accommodation costs.
Lily Mann, 25, and her boyfriend James Shires, 33, arrived in Dubai on February 26 for what was intended to be a week-long vacation in the popular luxury destination. The couple and other British tourists now face daily hotel bills of approximately £400 with no clear indication of when they might be able to leave.
The incidents come amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran and other Middle Eastern nations. Dubai has historically been a favored destination for British tourists seeking luxury travel experiences in the United Arab Emirates.
Neither the UAE government nor British authorities have provided official statements regarding coverage of stranded tourists' expenses or the specific circumstances surrounding the arrest of the London man.
