Ana C. Amato, 49, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, was arrested on charges of practicing dentistry without a license after allegedly performing dental work on a patient.

According to police reports, Amato began performing a root canal procedure on a male patient but was unable to complete the treatment. The incident reportedly left the patient requiring additional medical attention.

Following what authorities described as a disagreement in Amato's office, the patient contacted the South River Police Department to file a complaint about the alleged illegal dental practice.
