Former Vice President Kamala Harris has indicated she may seek the presidency again in 2028, telling multiple interviewers in recent weeks that she remains interested in pursuing higher office.

In an October 2024 interview with the BBC, Harris said she was "not done" with politics and strongly suggested she might run for president again. She reiterated this position in a conversation with podcaster Sharon McMahon last week, responding "I might" when directly asked if she would run again.

Since losing the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump, Harris has maintained a relatively low public profile. She has focused much of her energy on promoting "107 Days," her book about her abbreviated 2024 presidential campaign that began after President Biden withdrew from the race.

Harris has made select public appearances, including serving as the guest of honor at the 2025 Australian Real Estate Conference. Her recent media interviews mark her most direct comments about future political ambitions since the November election.

The former vice president never won a presidential primary during her 2020 campaign, withdrawing before the Iowa caucuses due to low polling and fundraising challenges. Her 2024 campaign lasted approximately three months after Biden's withdrawal from the race.

Harris's hints about a potential 2028 run come as the Democratic Party begins considering its future leadership following the 2024 election losses.
