A new YouGov poll has found that 50% of Americans support abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), marking a 5% increase from a January survey. The poll results come as immigration enforcement actions continue under the Trump administration.

The survey showed that exactly half of respondents said they "strongly or somewhat" want to see the federal immigration agency dismantled. This represents growing opposition to current immigration enforcement policies, according to the polling data.

Separately, tensions over immigration enforcement reached courtrooms, where a federal judge in Minnesota threatened to potentially jail ICE and Department of Justice officials. The Biden-appointed judge made the remarks during what was described as a heated exchange with U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen.

The polling increase follows incidents in Minnesota that resulted in the deaths of two individuals, identified as Renee Good and Alex Pretti, during encounters with immigration officers. These events occurred between the January poll and the more recent survey showing increased opposition to the agency.

The developments highlight ongoing conflicts between federal immigration enforcement and local jurisdictions, as well as shifting public opinion on immigration policy implementation.
