Netflix announced it has acquired InterPositive, an artificial intelligence startup founded by actor and director Ben Affleck that specializes in film and television production tools.

The acquisition brings all 16 of InterPositive's current engineering team members to Netflix as part of the deal. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

InterPositive has developed AI technology focused on post-production workflows rather than creating synthetic actors or performances. The company's model assists production teams by analyzing footage from their own productions to streamline the editing process.

The purchase represents Netflix's continued investment in production technology as the streaming giant seeks to enhance its content creation capabilities. The company has been expanding its technical infrastructure to support its growing slate of original programming.

Affleck, known for his work as an actor and director on films including "Argo" and "The Town," founded InterPositive to apply artificial intelligence to filmmaking workflows. The startup's focus on post-production tools aligns with industry efforts to improve efficiency in content creation without replacing human creative roles.
